The Department of Veterans Affairs is investing $4.8 billion in hospitals nationwide this year, the largest one-time maintenance funding in VA history.
Part of the money will go to the VA facility in Bath, where it will pay for building renovations, roof replacements on the main hospital and two other buildings, and the removal of asbestos pipe insulation. The funding will also cover emergency fuel cleanup and repairs, as well as a three-year electrical study at the property.
A similar study will be conducted at the Canandaigua VA thanks to this funding. Officials say the investment will help maintain facilities, purchase new equipment, and support other critical projects across the country.
