Brave Women FLX has announced the second annual Brave Women Week will be March 3-10, filled with local events and activities meant to celebrate women, past and present.
Brave Women FLX is a marketing campaign made up of the tourism offices in Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Monroe, Ontario and Seneca counties honoring the female pioneers that once called the Finger Lakes region home, and highlighting the brave women that continue to pave the way for others and encourages visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Locally-
• Brave Brews Festival (Cayuga County) — A celebration of women and non-binary individuals in New York’s craft beverage industry, featuring special guests and the flagship event, Prison City Fire & Ice Festival.
• Naples Women’s Weekend (Ontario County) — A diverse, multiday event featuring workshops, motivational speakers, entertainment, pop-up shops, and more in honor of Women’s History Month.
• Creative Women of the Finger Lakes: Art and Craftivism (Seneca County) — An exhibit highlighting the work of women artists and craftivists in the Finger Lakes, often showcasing themes of social activism. A complete list of events can be found on the Brave Women FLX website.
Grand, Domestic and Truly Comfy: The Langdon Mansion (Elmira, Chemung County) — This exhibition at the Chemung County Historical Society explores the Langdon mansion, showcasing period images, original furniture, decor, and artwork from one of Elmira’s most prominent families.
• She Shines (Cortland County) — A gathering at Homer Hops Brewing to celebrate and support Cortland County’s powerhouse women in tourism, with interactive experiences and live music.
