Bonafiglia Foundation Unveils Hotel Project to Boost Seneca Falls Downtown Development

SHARE NOW

The Bonafiglia Family Foundation has unveiled plans for a transformative hotel development in the heart of Seneca Falls’ historic downtown, aiming to drive economic growth, boost tourism, and raise hospitality standards across the Finger Lakes Region.

The proposed project would be built on a vacant, canal-front parcel owned by the foundation along the Cayuga-Seneca Canalway, directly adjacent to the National Women’s Hall of Fame. The foundation is offering significant economic incentives to attract a highly qualified developer and has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest to experienced developers, hotel operators, and investors.

Preliminary plans call for an 80-room hotel with a restaurant, conference and event space, walkable pathways, green spaces, and direct connectivity to other parts of downtown.

Foundation representatives say the project presents a unique opportunity for innovative and sustainable design, intending to deliver long-term community benefits.

“We are looking for visionary partners who share our commitment to quality, a high level of service, and community impact,” said Judy Wentzel, Executive Director for the Bonafiglia Family Foundation. “This REFI process is the first step in realizing a development that will serve both visitors and residents while advancing the Town of Seneca Falls’ broader goals.”
