Beginnings Credit Union Celebrates Rebrand with Ribbon Cutting in Waterloo

Beginnings Credit Union, formerly known as CFCU Community Credit Union, celebrated its new identity with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Waterloo branch on July 23.

The event, held in partnership with the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, marked the completion of the branch’s transformation—inside and out—from CFCU to Beginnings. Community members were invited to tour the refreshed space at 1959 US-20, featuring updated signage and the credit union’s new grape and amber color scheme.

“This was a wonderful way to personally introduce the Beginnings brand to our Waterloo members and the community,” said Katie Foley, vice president of marketing and sales.

The rebranding process began in April, and the official name change took effect on July 1. Attendees of the ribbon cutting enjoyed refreshments and had the chance to ask staff questions about the transition.

“I have been part of a credit union rebrand in the past, and I can honestly say that the level of energy and excitement from members and staff about the Beginnings rebrand is unmatched,” said Michael D’Angelo, vice president of member experience.

Beginnings Credit Union says all of its branches will receive similar updates throughout 2025.
