134 arts and cultural organizations across the state are sharing $86 million in funding from the New York State Council on the Arts’ (NYSCA) Capital Projects Fund, including several in our region.

Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement Wednesday that the funding would support nonprofit arts and cultural institutions across the state to fund building renovations, accessibility improvements, and new spaces.

“Our arts and culture sector is a powerhouse, inspiring the world with innovation and creativity. By investing in our museums, our theaters and our arts centers, we enrich our communities, strengthen local economies and improve tourism all over the State.”

Cayuga

  • Auburn Public Theater: $50,000 for Exterior Building and Sign Repair

Seneca

  • Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center: $99,000 for Seneca Finger Lakes Annex Renovation and Construction

Tompkins

  • Center for the Arts at Ithaca: $75,000 for Sound System Replacement
  • The Cherry Arts, Inc: $50,000 for New Audience Seating Architecture
  • Cornell University: $97,000 to Refurbish Seating System at Cornell Cinema
  • Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts, Inc: $328,000 for Interior Historic Renovation and Upgrade

Yates

  • Finger Lakes Cultural & Natural History Museum: $1,800,000 for Saunders Finger Lakes Museum – Main Exhibit Hall Construction
