Sandbags will be available until 3:30 today, first come first served, and you must pick them up.
UPDATE:  The city of Canandaigua reports its supply of sandbags has been exhausted.

In response to Wednesday’s anticipated rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl, Ontario County is making sandbags available for city of Canandaigua residents to pick up.

Sandbags are available at:

  • Ontario County Safety Training Facility, 2914 County Road 48, Canandaigua
  • Please drive to the back of the access road and the sandbags will be adjacent to the Fire Training Burn Building.

Residents can pick up sandbags at any time as the gate will remain open through Friday. The city does ask that residents please call first, during normal business hours (585) 396-4310 to ensure there is enough supply for everyone.

“Thank you to Ontario County for providing the sandbags,” said City Manager John Goodwin. “We are equally committed to supporting our community. This is a proactive measure, not intended to cause alarm.”

Updates will also be posted on the city’s website and its Facebook page.
