The local cut flower scene is growing and ever-changing. This program is part of the Cornell Program Work Team on Cut Flowers and is offering the first-ever NYS Cut Flower Conference. On Monday, you’ll hear from Jenny Marks, owner/operator of Trademarks Farm and Northeast Region Director of the Cut Flower Growers Association as she addresses “Crop Scheduling and Planning”. CCE educator Steve Hadcock, Beginning Farmer and Market Development Specialist, will address and demonstrate a new price calculator tool being developed through a grant to assist
growers in pricing their cut flowers and helping them make other critical business decisions. This will be an interactive presentation.

A grower panel will round out the day followed by a fun Iron Chef style participant flower arranging competition. There will also be a one-on-one session for growers to get acquainted with using the price calculator.

Day two will start with “Growing Perennial/Climate Resilient Plants and Native Plants for Cut Flowers” presented by Fran Parrish, owner/operator of Heirloom Soul Florals, cut flower grower and wedding florist. Followed by a tour of Trademarks Farm.
