The bell is back on top of the former Seneca Knitting Mill, now home to the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls.
The mill’s original bell and bell tower were dismantled in 2014, and the bell is on display in the first-floor gallery. The new bell is much lighter, and the tower is made of fiberglass, not wood, for longevity.
The Hall moved into the former knitting mill in 2020 and the second phase of the building’s renovation should be done this spring. A grand reopening will be held later this spring and the Hall to be open for visitors by Memorial Day.
