23 search warrants were executed last week in two counties as well as three locations outside of the Finger Lakes as part of a seven-month-long investigation into the sale and distribution of drugs in the Geneva area.  Seven warrants were executed in Ontario County, 13 in Monroe County and one each in New York City, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

This investigation was conducted by multiple local, county, state and federal agencies including the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Geneva and Canandaigua Police Departments, Unites States Homeland Security Investigations, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Seneca, Wayne, Yates and Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices, Rochester and Greece Police Departments, United States Postal Inspectors, Ontario County District Attorney’s Office, United States Attorney’s Office, Connecticut State Police and Springfield, MA Police Department.

As a result of this investigation and the execution of these search warrants, the following have been seized:
  • 6 kilograms of Cocaine
  • 2 kilograms (total) of Heroin and Fentanyl
  • 100 Fentanyl Pills
  • 100 Ecstasy Pills
  • 34 Oxycodone Pills
  • 130 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 72 bottles of liquid – suspected animal tranquilizer
  • 2.6 pounds of Marihuana
  • 9 Firearms – 6 from Monroe County; 3 from Geneva
  • $150,000 in Cash
  • 14 Motor Vehicles

As of Monday, two men have been arrested. 51-year-old Reinaldo Suarez of Rochester and 30-year-old Oscar Alvarado of Greece were charged with possession to intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon. Additional arrests are expected.

“The results of this investigation represent months of hard work and dedication by dozens of members from the agencies listed,” said Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione. “The public safety impact of these seizures is monumental as these drugs and guns have been removed from the streets before they could cause harm to members of our community. I commend all the officers and members of these agencies who worked together on this case. Their teamwork and focus are what allowed this investigation and the ensuing search warrants to occur.”
