149 Candidates Running in Ontario County Elections

The General Election for county, city and town public offices in Ontario County will be held on November 7th from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

149 candidates representing eight different political parties are campaigning to fill 80 elected county, city and town public offices in this year’s election. Among the offices are County Clerk, two County Coroners, Geneva City Mayor and council, Canandaigua City ward supervisors and council members as well as two Town Board members in every town. Other races include some town supervisors, justices and highway superintendents as well as elections to fill vacancies in some town and city offices.

In addition, voters will decide two statewide ballot proposals to make amendments to the state constitution and City of Geneva voters will decide on a local law to stagger the elected terms of office for city council and mayor. Voters may cast their ballot in one of three ways: 1) in person on Election Day, 2) in person during Early Voting, or 3) by Absentee Ballot. Voters who choose to vote on Election Day November 7th will cast their ballots at their assigned poll site. During the Early Voting period that begins on October 28th and lasts through Sunday November 5th, voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting location during the times shown:

Saturday, October 28: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, October 29: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Monday, October 30: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, October 31: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Wednesday, November 1: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Thursday, November 2: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday, November 3: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, November 4: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, November 5: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Voters unable to cast their ballot in person may apply for an absentee ballot. The application form is available at the Board of Elections website or online (https://absenteeballot.elections.ny.gov/), and must be received by the Board no later than October 23rd if sent by mail or online. Voters may also make their application in person at the Board of Elections during normal business hours through November 6th.
