Army National Guard veteran and educator Alissa Ellman is officially launching her campaign for Congress in New York’s 24th District.
The Democrat announced her candidacy at Veterans Memorial Park in Lockport, where she vowed to challenge Republican incumbent Claudia Tenney in 2026.
Ellman, a Houghton native, served two tours in Afghanistan and later worked as a veterans advocate at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She was laid off earlier this year as part of suggested federal cuts by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.
A cancer survivor, she says her campaign will focus on putting working families and everyday people ahead of special interests.
