Kim and Gary Van Benschoten of Groton have claimed a $9.8 million New York LOTTO jackpot after matching all six numbers drawn on May 2.
The winning numbers were 08, 13, 28, 35, 49, and 54. The bonus number was 16, which is used to determine second-prize winners.
The couple elected to split the jackpot evenly. After required withholdings, each received $2,532,587, representing half of the cash value of the annuitized prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Speedway convenience store located at 202 Main Street in Groton.
