Primary election day is today and Republican voters in NY-24 will again decide between Geneva’s Mario Fratto and incumbent Rep. Claudia Tenney as their party’s choice to put on the November ballot.
Fratto challenged Tenney in 2022 in the Republican primary to represent the then-newly reshaped 24th district but lost the bid after receiving approximately 40% of the vote. Tenney would go on to defeat Democrat Steven Holden in the general election.
New York’s 24th District includes all of Cayuga, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, Ontario, Livingston, Wyoming, Genesee, almost all of Oswego, the southern half of Jefferson, the southern half of Orleans, and the eastern half of Niagara County.
