Electronics recycling and refurbishment company Sunnking Sustainable Solutions has relocated its operations from Brockport to a significantly larger facility in Ontario County, a move company officials say will increase processing capacity and support future growth.

The company announced it has moved into the former Crosman Corp. headquarters and manufacturing facility at 7629 Routes 5 and 20 in East Bloomfield. The 219,000-square-foot building sits on nearly 50 acres and was purchased earlier this year for $5.75 million through Sunnshine Enterprises LLC, according to Ontario County property records.

Sunnking President Adam Shine said the move allows the company to expand its electronics recycling and resale operations while maintaining room for future growth.

The company previously operated from a leased facility in Brockport. By owning its new location, Sunnking will no longer face rising lease costs and can invest further in operations, according to company officials.

One of the largest benefits of the move is increased processing capacity. Shine told News10NBC the company expects to increase the number of loads of shredded electronics it ships each month from about 10 to as many as 15 or 16.

The facility includes dedicated areas for office operations, material handling, shredding and resale activities.

Sunnking said all employees at its Brockport location were offered positions at the new facility. Retaining experienced workers was a priority because of the specialized training required to safely dismantle and process electronics.

The relocation marks another major expansion for the company, which has operated in the Rochester region for more than two decades. Sunnking processes electronics ranging from computers and televisions to mobile devices and other equipment containing cords, batteries or screens. According to the company, it refurbishes and redeploys more than 100,000 electronic devices annually and has kept hundreds of millions of pounds of electronic waste out of landfills since its founding.

The move had been planned for several months. Company job postings and hiring materials earlier this year referenced an anticipated transition from Brockport to Bloomfield as operations expanded.

Despite the relocation, company officials said residents will still be able to recycle electronics through Sunnking’s network of certified collection sites and community recycling events throughout western and central New York. The company also said it will continue hosting electronics collection events across the region.
