Veterans in the Canandaigua and Great Rochester areas will have two more ways to get to-and-from their VA appointments.
Two chapters of the Disabled American Veterans Department of NY donated two Ford Explorer, four-by-four, seven-passenger vehicles on Tuesday to provide ambulatory Veterans transportation to their medical appointments and then back home.
DAV has more than 1 million members, making it one of the largest Veterans Service Organizations (VSO). Since the program’s inception in 1987, DAV has donated 3,618 vehicles and Ford Motor Co. has donated over 248 vehicles totaling more than $91 million.
The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is recruiting qualified volunteer drivers to transport ambulatory Veterans to and from their VA appointments.
