Work Underway on Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades

SHARE NOW

Work on upgrading the City of Auburn’s wastewater treatment facility is underway.

Speaking on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said progress on the facility is being made.

“Quite a bit of the stormwater work facility has already been installed, including the piping in the ground and the manhole. Some of the electrical work that’s going to be needed for the project is already underway. There’s over 100,000 pounds of rebar that has been placed throughout the project.”

Mason adds that work was somewhat hindered by all the rain received over the summer.

Construction on the roughly $84 million project is expected to last into 2024.
