Work is underway on the reconstruction of one Auburn playground.
The Auburn Planning & Economic Development Department has announced that Phase I of the Wall Street Playground reconstruction project has begun. This phase consists of demolition and clearing, grading and drainage, and the installation of an asphalt walkway, a picket fence by the riverbank, a swing set, and benches.
Phase I is being done by Titan Development Inc. from Gasport, NY and is expected to be completed this year.
Phase II is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025. It will consist of a new pavilion, a spiderweb climber, and the resurfacing of the basketball court.
The planning department held a community meeting last Fall to learn what nearby residents wanted to see in the park.
