The Village of Cayuga’s new affordable housing units are set to get their first tenants next month.
Wheat Street Apartments have announced that plans are moving according to schedule and their townhouses are set to be occupied in December.
The townhouses, which total 16 units, are part of a larger project to transform the former Cayuga Elementary School campus into 47 affordable housing units.
Applications for the units opened in July. In September, a lottery held by project managers Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services determined which applicants would move on to the review process before moving in.
INHS is accepting applications for a limited number of three-bedroom townhouse units still available. Applications can be made here.
