The second time was the charm for the Jordan-Elbridge school budget. The Auburn Citizen reports voters approved the revamped budget Tuesday. 69% of voters approved the 39 and a half million dollar spending plan. In a news release, Superintendent Jim Froio thanked voters for approving the budget, which includes an oh-point-eight-five percent increase in the tax levy, the total amount to be raised in taxes. The budget approved by voters was only slightly smaller than the one rejected last month, but cut the tax levy increase almost in half. With the vote, the district avoids having to adopt a contingency budget.
