Update on Cayuga County Accident That Killed Sisters

SHARE NOW

Central New York sisters who were on their way home from Seabreeze have been identified as the victims who lost their lives in last Thursday’s fatal car accident in Cayuga County.

19-year-old Hailey Trumble and 17-year-old Shelby Trumble, both of Granby, were driving east on Ira Hill Road, near the intersection of Farnam Road in Ira, when they crested a hill and crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a car. The sisters were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car, 59-year-old Robin Latham, of Tully, is listed in stable condition at University Hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office is still trying to figure out why the Trumble vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Lieutenant Rob Franklin at (315) 253-1132.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family of the Trumble sisters with funeral costs.  To donate, please click here.
