(2:00 pm Update): The names of those involved in the fatal Memorial Day Crash in Cayuga County have been released.
37-year-old Enoelio Cortez-Lajuj was killed when the pickup truck he was a passenger in failed to yield at the intersection of State Routes 38 and 370 in the Town of Victory and was struck by a tractor-trailer.
Also in the pickup truck, 25-year-old Loido Corado-Quinonez is currently listed in critical condition; the driver, 44-year-old Kevin Valle is currently listed in stable condition, and 30-year-old Lorena Ibanez-Diaz and 27-year-old Yosselin Ibanez-Diaz were both treated at Upstate University Hospital and released.
The driver and sole occupant of the tractor-trailer, 61-year-old Serhiy Pokhodun of Ontario, Canada, was not injured.
One person died after a pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer at an intersection in Cayuga County.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck said the pickup was southbound on State Route 38 at around 1:30 Monday afternoon when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign and drove into the path of an eastbound tractor-trailer on State Route 370 in Victory. All five of the people in the pickup were taken to Upstate University Hospital where one was pronounced dead. The conditions of the other four people were not released. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The names of those involved have not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
