8 P.M. UPDATE: Service has been restored
3:40p Update: Cayuga County 911 reports Verizon is aware of the issue affecting Cayuga County 911 services and has field teams working to fix the problem.
Technical issues are causing problems at Cayuga County’s 911 center.
According to 911 Administrator Denise Spingler, Cayuga County’s 911 center is down. If you call 911 in the county, you’ll be redirected to Seneca County’s emergency call center.
The center is working to remedy the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
In the meantime, residents are asked to call the Auburn Police Department at 315-253-4761 or the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at 315-253-4549 for emergencies.
