Two upcoming meetings will provide updates on the Downtown Revitalization Initiative coming to Cayuga, Union Springs, and Aurora.
The fifth Local Planning Committee meeting will take place from 4:00-6:00p on September 9 at the Union Springs Fire Hall. (257 Cayuga St). The public is encouraged to attend.
A second meeting will held on September 16 at the fire hall from 6:00-8:00p. Following a presentation, the public is encouraged to review the projects that have been submitted for funding and share input on which ones are most important to transforming the three communities.

Under the DRI grant program, the LPC is tasked with selecting a slate of projects to form a Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) The SIP will be sent to the state in December where officials will review it and choose which projects will receive DRI funding, something expected to happen by spring 2025.
The three villages were jointly awarded $10 million in February to help revitalize their downtowns.
