645,745 dollars was raised by United Way of Cayuga County during their annual fundraising campaign.
Of that $525,000 will go to area non-profits, an increase of $25,000 over last year.
With pandemic relief ending and economic situation, Julisa Stone with United Way says they’re grateful for the community’s support. She told Finger Lakes Daily News “we are excited about how much we raised given everything that was against us. The community really came together to support our neighbors and our friends who need it in these different funding areas.”
The organization is finalizing its approval for funding applications.
2023 marks 100 years of United Way supporting membership agencies.
