Two women have been indicted on two counts each of violent felony robbery stemming from an incident that happened earlier this summer in Cayuga County.
Alasia Daniels, of Auburn, and Courtney Donovan, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, are accused of acting in concert with each other, forcibly stealing property during a robbery that happened on July 21st in the area of Cottage Street in the city of Auburn. According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s office, the victim of the alleged crime was injured during the robbery.
In addition to the felony charges, Daniels and Donovan were each charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
If convicted, the women each face a 15-year determinate prison sentence on the robbery charges. Donovan faces an additional eight-year consecutive prison sentence on an unrelated felony charge, for an aggregate term of 23 years of imprisonment.
Following arraignment, Donovan was sent to Cayuga County Jail without bail and is being held on an unrelated felony bench warrant issued when she fled New York while pending sentencing. Daniels was released following her arraignment against the recommendation of the DA’s Office.
