TomatoFest has a new home. As the event prepares for its 40th year of raising money and food donations for food pantries through Cayuga County, the Board of Directors for TomatoFest have made the decision to move it from downtown Auburn to the Fingerlakes Mall.
In a news release announcing the change, the TomatoFest board said this new location will better allow them to increase their offerings for its 40th anniversary celebrations. They also showed their appreciation to the previous hosts.
“We thank the City of Auburn for hosting us for so many years. City staff and support has been invaluable as we work to ensure that no one in Cayuga County goes hungry.”
This year’s TomatoFest will take place on September 6th. Organizers say the board and volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure that this year’s rendition will not only bring in as much donations as possible for the county’s food pantries but also be a celebration of the role TomatoFest has had in the county since 1985.
“As we get closer to the event on Saturday, September 6, expect to hear more about what we have in store. From returning favorites and staples of our annual event to the new fun-filled offerings, we look forward to helping support our neighbors, celebrate our 40 years of success, and get ready for our next 40 years in the community.”
