Syracuse Woman Pleads Guilty to Robbing Cayuga County Business

A Syracuse woman has pled guilty to robbing a Cayuga County store over the summer.

The District Attorney’s Office made the announcement Monday that Kahlila Bender-Baker pled guilty to felony counts of Robbery and Grand Larceny before her jury trial was set to start.

The 36-year-old admitted to entering the Kohl’s Department Store in the Town of Aurelius with three other codefendents. The group stole over $3,000 worth of merchandise While leaving through an emergency exit, Bender-Baker threatened an employee with a Taser. She was arrested shortly afterward in the Dill Street area.

“The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office has made it a priority to prosecute repeat offenders who target retail stores in our County,” said Antonacci. “To combat the ever-rising retail theft across the state, our Office, along with our law enforcement partners, will continue our commitment
to holding these individuals accountable for their actions and seeking swift prosecution of these offenders.”

When sentenced in March, she faces between 3.5-15 years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision.
