The union representing registered nurses across the state has endorsed State Senator Rachel May in her reelection bid.
The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) has announced its first slate of endorsements, including May who is running to keep control of the 48th State Senate District that includes all of Cayuga and parts of Onondaga Counties. She currently has two Republican challengers – Caleb Slater and Fanny Villarreal.
The association also backed US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in her race to remain in Congress.
NYSNA is the largest nurses’ union in the state, representing over 42,000 members, including those in Onondaga County. The group plans to announce further endorsements as Election Day draws nearer.
