A ribbon cutting Friday will officially open the City of Auburn’s new skatepark.
Coinciding with National Go Skate Day, the park will officially open at 1:30p. The band Underside will provide live music at the park beginning at 2:00p.
While this is the official opening, fencing around the 10,000 sq ft park came down in November, letting skaters enjoy the nearly $1 million facility ahead of the official opening.
Designed by Grindline Skateparks Inc., the park is located within Casey Park and is roughly 50% larger than the previous skatepark that existed on the property.
