A public hearing tomorrow Thursday will let Auburn residents share their opinions on the city’s plan to apply for a $2 million grant to rehabilitate one downtown building.
City Council intends to apply for a Restore NY Grant to transform the former Chemung Canal Trust Company building at 120 Genesee Street into a mixed-use building with retail on the lower two floors and apartments on the remaining upper floors. According to the intent to apply document, the estimated project cost sits at $7,288,050 and is being developed by Flaum Management Company Inc.
Speaking last month on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said that, if the grant is awarded, work would begin quickly.
The public hearing will take place at 5:00p during the regularly scheduled city council meeting at City Hall.
