After being delayed last month, a public hearing will be held tonight to allow Cayuga County residents a chance to weigh in on a proposed law that would add a surcharge for ticket sales at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse at Emerson Park. Those wishing to speak are asked to call 315-294-8051.
Under the proposed law, a surcharge would be added to tickets sold for admission to the theatre. The legislature would set the surcharge amount through July 31, 2027. From then on, the legislature would need to set the surcharge amount on or before August 1 for sales occurring over the next 12 months.
The legislature is expected to vote on the proposal during tonight’s meeting, which you can watch on the county’s YouTube channel.
