United Way of Cayuga County is seeking projects for its fourth annual Day of Caring.
501(c)3 organizations and community spaces like libraries and parks in the county can apply to have community volunteers assist with projects. These projects include painting, stair repair, administrative work, gardening, and more. Projects can be either half-day (four hours) or day-long (six-plus hours).
Projects must have an on-site coordinator present for the duration of the event and have a rain/inclement weather plan.
The Day of Caring is a day where volunteers take on projects at nonprofits throughout Cayuga County. In 2023, over 200 volunteers completed 16 projects in Auburn, Aurora, Fair Haven, King Ferry, and Poplar Ridge.
This year’s Day of Caring is Thursday, August 1.
Those wishing to register a project or volunteer can do so at unitedwayofcayugacounty.org.
