Perform 4 Purpose (P4P) is once again seeking to win another regional music award.
The Cayuga County-based not-for-profit is seeking to win its second Syracuse Area Music Award People’s Choice or SAMMY in the Local Academic or Musical Organization category. P4P has made it to the third round of the voting, which ends on February 2, with the top 16 in each category moving on to the next round.

After having previously placed as runner-up twice, the group won its first SAMMY in 2024. After winning last year, P4P Program Director Jim Van Arsdale told Finger Lakes News Radio that these awards are a testament to what the group does for the community.
“We are very humbled and grateful for all the community voting to support us. Seeing our young performers beaming with pride at the awards ceremony was great and helps them realize how important and helpful their performances are to everyone.”
Founded in 2011, P4P provides tuition-free music lessons, workshops, and performances for youth in Cayuga and surrounding counties, including Tompkins and Onondaga.
