Owasco River Clean-Up: Volunteers Wanted

SHARE NOW

Earth Day is coming up and the City of Auburn is getting ready for its annual clean-up of the Mill Street Dam area of the Owasco River.

This year, before volunteers begin picking up litter, they’ll be able to get a tour of the hydroelectric facility. That’s not all though. City Clerk Chuck Mason told Finger Lakes News Radio that anyone who volunteers will receive a certificate for a free tree or shrub, available May 12th at the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Annual Distribution Day.

Classic Hits 99.3 will be broadcasting live from the dam from 10:00a-12:00p.

The tour begins at 9:30a and clean-up will commence after that.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the dam and bring their own gloves and rakes.
