Overdoses Decline in Cayuga County

Overdoses are declining in Cayuga County.

At the time of reporting, county data shows seven suspected overdoses occurred in June 2024, down from the 22 that occurred in June 2023.

Of the seven, none were fatal. 71.4% occurred within the Auburn city limits, and 28.6% are believed to have involved opioids.

The first half of 2024 saw 69 overdoses, including four fatalities. By this time last year, the county had already seen 89 overdoses, three of which were fatal.
