One person has died following a house fire Tuesday morning in Cayuga County.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck said the fire was reported around 8:30 a.m. at a home on East Lake Road in the town of Conquest. According to Schenck, the victim was an elderly male. He was the only person inside the residence at the time of the fire.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, but the fire appears to have been accidental. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
