A new mural be unveiled in downtown Auburn later this month. The mural, which says “Welcome to Auburn,” is being installed above Nash’s Framing & Art at 12 State Street.
The vintage postcard style mural was designed by Arthur the Artist who also designed the Harriet Tubman mural on the Nolan Block.
The Auburn Business Improvement District says the new mural is being paid for by the city’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant, includes $285,000 for public art projects.
In a news release, BID officials say “The lively design uses big letters, bright colors and bold movements to show residents and visitors that Auburn is a proud city that values its legacy while looking to the future.” The mural will be unveiled on May 19th.
