New Ambulance Begins Service In Aurora

SHARE NOW

A new ambulance is now on the road in Aurora after months of fundraising and planning, officials say.

The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department put the vehicle into service Saturday at 4 p.m. Community donations helped cover most of the cost, with the department raising $120,000 through a public fundraiser and a memorial fund. The remaining amount was funded by the Aurora-Ledyard Fire District equipment fund.

Fire officials thanked residents for their support, saying the donations help ensure crews have the equipment needed to respond to emergencies across the district. The ambulance project was completed with assistance from North Eastern Rescue Vehicles.

The new ambulance will provide improved emergency response capabilities for the Aurora area and surrounding communities, helping crews respond quickly to fires, medical emergencies, and other critical situations.
