After 16 years on the job, Auburn Mayor Mike Quill will preside over his final full city council meeting Thursday.

The public is invited to attend the meeting at 5:00p at City Hall where Quill will deliver his outgoing remarks.

First elected in 2007, the mayor has helped with many transformational projects for the city including the construction of the Casey Park skate park, The Equal Rights Heritage Center, and the establishment of the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park.

Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio on an earlier occasion, Quill said he is grateful to the people of Auburn for allowing him to serve for 16 years.

Quill’s last day will be New Year’s Eve; he will be succeeded by current City Councilor Jimmy Giannettino.
