“Wherever there’s a need, there’s a lion.”
Those are the words of Lions Clubs International District Governor for the Finger Lakes region Russ Ebbets, who is joining forces to reform an Auburn chapter of the club after being disbanded for 11 years.
A chapter needs 20 members for a charter; however, Ebbets says one in Auburn could be formed with as few as five members by becoming a branch club of an already existing chapter, in this case the one in Union Springs. This would put Auburn under the village’s umbrella until they reach the required 20 members and
Lions International is a philanthropic organization known for its literacy programs, vision and hearing exams, and environmental work.
If you’re interested in joining the Auburn club, their first meeting will be held at Cosentino’s Florist (141 Dunning Ave, Auburn, NY) at 5:30p on the 25th.
