Experience matters – that’s what Kristine Lytle said Wednesday evening as she stood outside the county office building to formally accept the endorsement of the Conservative Party to succeed Sue Dwyer as Cayuga County’s next clerk.
Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, Lytle said “I want to give the county residents an opportunity to have a qualified person in the position of county clerk. It will make a seamless transition coming in January and I feel our county deserves that.”
Following her announcement at the county office building, Lytle and her team went to AT Walley’s where the public was able to meet the candidate. Many at the bar for the meet and greet cited her experience working for the DMV and ability to work with other office staff as the main reasons for their support.
Lytle has spent 16 years working for the DMV with 13 of those being in a supervisory role.
Besides running as a Conservative, her campaign is trying to garner enough signatures to allow Lytle’s name to also appear on an independent ballot line which they hope to label “Experience Matters.”
She faces Democrat Brian Scanlan and Republican Christopher Petrus in the November 7th election.
