SHARE NOW

There will be plenty to do in Auburn this weekend as Founders Day Weekend returns to History’s Hometown.

The festivities begin on Friday at 7:00p with the YMCA’s Downtown Mile.

Taking place at the same time as the Downtown Mile, Motley Croutoun will play their final concert on State Street as part of the city’s Music on the Mall Concert series.

Saturday is Founders Day. The festivities begin at 9:00a with the History on Wheels Classic Car Cruise-In on Genesee Street. Attendees can spend the day viewing classic cars, enjoying local music, and supporting food, drink, and arts and crafts vendors. Lisa Cruz with Classic Hits 99.3 will be broadcasting live from 10:00a-12:00p.

For more information on Founders Day, including a lineup of musicians, visit auburnny.gov.

Other events happening on Saturday include the Saturday Market at the Equal Rights Heritage Center from 9:00a-1:00p and the Finger Lakes Arts Council’s Summer Festival of Creative Arts at Willard Memorial Chapel. Free shuttle rides between downtown and the chapel will be offered from 10:00a-4:00p.

Sunday caps off the weekend with the 46th Annual Great Race at Emerson Park on Owasco Lake. The Myles Keogh Paddle, Wheel, & Run triathlon sees teams compete in a 4-mile run, 12.4-mile bike section, and a 2.5-mile canoe, kayak, or paddleboard section.

The deadline to register for the triathlon is Friday at 3:00p.

Auburn isn’t the only place in Cayuga County with a weekend jam-packed with festivities. Fillmore Days and Bathtub Races runs Thursday through Saturday in Moravia.
