A former student at Moravia High School has filed a lawsuit accusing a former teacher and coach, Lexie Hilliard, of sexual abuse between 2015 and 2016.
The lawsuit, filed June 6 in Cayuga County Supreme Court under the New York Child Victims Act, also claims the Moravia Central School District and its board of education knew or should have known about the abuse but failed to act.
The student, identified as “L.D.” to protect their privacy, is seeking damages to be determined at trial.
