A former inmate at the Auburn Correctional Facility has been indicted for allegedly assaulting a corrections officer in March 2024.

According to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s office, 32-year-old Quincy Lundy of Syracuse was indicted on Tuesday on two felony counts of Assault for allegedly punching the officer in his face while performing his duties at the Auburn prison, causing physical injury. Following the incident, Lundy was transferred to Upstate Correctional Facility.

If convicted, Lundy faces up to seven years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision. Any sentence would run consecutively to his current one by operation of law.

Lundy’s next court date is set for June 4.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
