It appears that former Congressman Brandon Williams is headed back to Washington, albeit in a brand new role.
President-Elect Donald Trump announced Thursday the Auburn area resident is being nominated to serve as Under Secretary for Nuclear Security at the U.S. Department of Energy. Williams, who lost to John Mannion in the 22nd Congressional District race in November, is a Navy veteran and served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer and Strategic Missile Officer.
Williams’ appointment will need confirmation from the U.S. Senate.
