    A cold front has pushed through the region and temperatures have quickly dropped below freezing and will continue to drop into the low 20s and teens overnight. A brief period of heavy snow with snowfall rates greater than 1 inch per hour is expected through early Tuesday morning. 1 to 3 inches of snow and falling temperatures will produce a flash freeze and icy conditions on untreated roads and surfaces.

Finger Lakes SPCA Returning To Normal Hours

The Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York says it will soon return to its normal operating hours after weeks of caring for hundreds of animals seized in Cayuga County last month.

In a social media update, the organization said it expects to resume regular hours after Wednesday as staff and volunteers continue to care for animals taken in during the February 20 seizure.

Limited hours remain in place through midweek before the full schedule resumes later in the week.

The SPCA said it appreciates the community’s patience and support while staff and volunteers focused on caring for the animals following the large-scale seizure.

The organization released it’s planned schedule for the upcoming week:

Saturday, 3/14: OPEN 1pm – 2pm
Sunday, 3/15: CLOSED
Monday, 3/16: OPEN 1pm – 2pm
Tuesday, 3/17: OPEN 1pm – 3pm
Wednesday, 3/18: OPEN 1pm – 3pm
Thursday, 3/19: OPEN 11am – 5pm
Friday, 3/20: OPEN 11am – 5pm
