A Cayuga County holiday tradition has returned for its 12th year.
The Ward O’Hara Agricultural Museum’s Festival of Trees has returned with over 200 decorated trees, the most trees since the event’s inception in 2012, filling the Owasco museum.
Tim Quill is the museum’s director. Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, he said the idea for the festival came after nearby Emerson Park ceased holding its Lights on the Lake festival.
“The museum needed something to celebrate the holidays and the community needed something.”
Admission to the museum is free and hot chocolate, tea, and coffee are available for those viewing the trees.
The museum is open from 10:00a-7:00p seven days a week now through December 30. The museum will then switch from 10:00a-4:00p from December 31 through January 31. It will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
