A 51-year-old man was killed in a crash Tuesday evening in the town of Summerhill.
According to New York State Police, the man was driving a 2017 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck eastbound on State Route 90 around 5 p.m. when he lost control, veered off the north side of the road, and overturned.
Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the truck, 47-year-old Lawanda Eaton of Cortland, was not injured but was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse as a precaution. She remains in stable condition.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to process the scene. The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and Locke Fire Department also assisted.
The investigation is ongoing.
