Ducks on the Loose: 2K Rubber Ducks Lost at Memorial Day Duck Derby

If you live in Cayuga County, be on the lookout for 2,000 escaped ducks!

Due to heavy rains raising water levels on the Owasco River, approximately 2,000 rubber ducks went over the finish line at Auburn’s Memorial Day Duck Derby and escaped downstream.

TomatoFest, The Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Onondaga Coach are asking for your help in locating the wayward ducks. The groups are offering a free Duck Derby raffle tickets for 2025 for anyone who returns found ducks to Onondaga Coach at 7659 North St Rd, Auburn.

Duck Derby ducks have been numbered, usually on their back or sides.

The 2025 Duck Derby will be held on May 26.
