6,000 plastic ducks will soon make their way down the Owasco River.
A collaboration between TomatoFest and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the annual Memorial Day Duck Derby once again returns to downtown Auburn. Following the city’s post-parade memorial service, the ducks will be released, making their way down the river for collection at Market Street Park.
The first nine ducks and the last duck to cross the finish line will each earn a prize.
Funds raised from the event go to area food banks and Auburn Rotary’s Warm the Children program.
A list of locations selling tickets for the derby can be found on the Hibernians and CNY TomatoFest’s Facebook pages. Tickets will also be sold on Memorial Day at Market Street Park.
